Police have arrested Hasibur Rahman, the boyfriend of actress and model Ridhika Ridhi, in an abetment-to-suicide case after her body was recovered in the Bhatara police station area of the capital. Ridhi’s mother filed the case on Saturday, naming Rahman as the sole accused. Police said he was arrested and sent to court. Bhatara police station Officer-in-Charge Mazharul Islam confirmed the information on Sunday morning.

According to police, Ridhi’s body was recovered from a residence in the Bhatara area early Saturday. Before her death, she had been on a video call with Rahman. Preliminary information indicates that the two had an argument and quarrel during that time. Her body was later taken to Kurmitola General Hospital, where the duty doctor declared her dead.

Police initially believe the incident was a suicide, but said an investigation is continuing to determine the actual cause of death and the circumstances behind it. The case alleges that Rahman abetted her suicide. Police said he has been sent to court following his arrest.
