Bangladesh pace bowling coach Talha Zubair has described the team’s historic Test victory in Darwin as a major achievement from its Australia tour, despite a heavy defeat in the second and final Test in Mackay. The Bangladesh squad returned home on Friday night after the tour and was received at the airport by several Bangladesh Cricket Board directors.

Talha expressed disappointment over Bangladesh’s batting failure in the Mackay Test, saying the toss also played an important role. He said the wicket had tennis-ball-like bounce that Bangladesh could not adjust to, and added that stronger batting could have produced a better outcome in the second match. He said Australia were expected to respond strongly after Bangladesh’s first-Test win.

The former cricketer said an effective pace attack is crucial for winning Test matches abroad, including taking 20 wickets. He viewed Bangladesh’s recent progress in pace bowling as an encouraging sign and hoped the bowlers would maintain their form. Talha said the Darwin win showed Bangladesh could beat any opponent and would provide confidence for future overseas tours.
