Bangladesh pacer Nahid Rana delivered an impressive bowling performance on the second day of the Sylhet Test against Pakistan, helping to trigger a collapse in Pakistan’s batting lineup as they chased a 400-run target. Rana dismissed set batter Babar Azam, marking the third consecutive Test in which he has taken Babar’s wicket. Speaking after the day’s play, the young fast bowler said that every wicket is equally important to him and his team, emphasizing his focus on executing his bowling plans.

Rana explained that he trapped Babar by varying his pace, bowling one delivery at 149 km/h followed by a slower ball at 144 km/h. He said that quality batters can be unsettled by subtle changes in pace and skill. Looking ahead, Rana stated that Bangladesh’s plan for the next day is to bat as long as possible rather than setting a specific target, noting that there is still plenty of time left in the match.

He credited Liton Das’s century as the turning point for Bangladesh, along with valuable lower-order contributions from Taijul, Taskin, and Shoriful.
