The Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission Secretariat has issued the notice for the 19th Bangladesh Judicial Service (BJS) Examination, 2026, to recruit 250 qualified candidates as assistant judges, also known as civil judges. The number of posts may decrease or increase. The position carries a salary of Tk 30,935 to Tk 64,430 under the Judicial Service Pay Scale 2016, along with other benefits under government decisions.

Applicants must hold a qualifying law degree from a recognised university, including a four-year honours degree in law, a bachelor’s degree in law, or a three-year law degree from a recognised foreign university with a postgraduate degree. They need at least a second division or equivalent CGPA. Final-year law students may apply subject to conditions. Candidates must be no older than 32 on July 1, 2026.

The 100-mark preliminary MCQ test has a pass mark of 50, with 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer, and is expected in the first week of October 2026. Written and oral tests will carry 1,000 and 100 marks respectively, and all examinations will be held in Dhaka metropolitan area. Applications open online on August 6 at noon and close on September 6 at 11:59 pm. The Tk 1,200 fee must be paid via Teletalk by September 7 at 11:59 pm.
