The human rights organization Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) has expressed deep concern over a brutal incident in Cox’s Bazar’s Matamuhuri upazila, where a woman and her teenage daughter were gang-raped during a home robbery. According to ASK’s press release issued on Wednesday, a ten-member gang broke into the victims’ house late Monday night by cutting the window grill, looted gold and cash, and then committed the assault. The woman’s husband works in Chattogram city, leaving her at home with their two daughters aged 15 and 7.

ASK stated that such barbaric and inhumane acts are not isolated tragedies but raise serious questions about the state’s ability to ensure the safety of women and children. The organization emphasized that sexual violence and gang rape are completely unacceptable and that repeated incidents of such crimes erode public confidence and create fear and insecurity in society.

ASK demanded the immediate identification and arrest of all perpetrators, calling for their punishment under the law. It also urged authorities to provide urgent medical, psychological, and legal support, along with maximum security for the victims.
