Professor Abu Taleb Mondol, the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami–nominated candidate and Pabna district amir, has been unofficially declared the winner in the Pabna-4 (Ishwardi-Atgharia) constituency during the 13th national parliamentary election. He defeated BNP’s candidate Habibur Rahman Habib by a margin of 3,683 votes. According to the announced results, Mondol, contesting under the scale symbol, received 137,675 votes, while Habib obtained 133,992 votes. Independent candidate Zakaria Pintu, running under the motorcycle symbol, secured 25,841 votes.

Voting took place peacefully from morning until 4:30 p.m. across 129 polling centers in Ishwardi and Atgharia, with 84 centers in Ishwardi and 45 in Atgharia. The election saw spontaneous voter turnout, with long queues reported throughout the day. The main contest was between Jamaat’s Abu Taleb Mondol, BNP’s Habibur Rahman Habib, and independent candidate Zakaria Pintu.

In his immediate reaction, Mondol described the victory as belonging to the people of Ishwardi and Atgharia and expressed his intention to work collectively for local development. Supporters celebrated the result following the announcement.
