BNP candidate Kalim Uddin Milon has been unofficially declared the winner in the Sunamganj-5 constituency, covering Chhatak and Dowarabazar. The unofficial results were announced on Tuesday, February 12, 2026, following the completion of vote counting across all 170 polling centers. According to results received by 8:30 p.m., Milon, contesting under the 'paddy sheaf' symbol, secured 152,997 votes.
His closest rival, Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Abdus Salam Madani, who ran under the 'scales' symbol, received 99,928 votes. This gives Milon a lead of 53,069 votes, according to BNP sources. The results are based on unofficial tallies from all polling centers in the constituency.
The report indicates that the results are yet to be officially confirmed, but the BNP has already acknowledged Milon’s victory based on the available data from the full set of polling stations.
