Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited the graves of his parents, former President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, at the Zia Udyan in Dhaka on Thursday after performing Eid-ul-Azha prayers. He was accompanied by his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, and party leaders and activists during the visit.

After paying respects with his wife, the prime minister joined party members in offering tributes at the graves. Following the visit, Prime Minister’s adviser Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told reporters that Tarique Rahman extended Eid greetings to the entire nation. Rizvi added that the government, elected by the people, is striving to remain accountable to them, and that citizens were celebrating Eid peacefully and with sincerity this year.

Later, the prime minister also visited the graves of his brother Arafat Rahman Koko at Banani Cemetery and his father-in-law Mahbub Ali Khan at the Banani Military Cemetery.
