Severe floods and landslides in Nepal have killed 633 people, while more than 2,000 remain missing, according to the source. Amid the disaster, a video circulating on social media shows one house remaining intact despite powerful floodwaters damaging nearby homes and structures. Members of a family sheltered on the upper part of the house as water levels rose rapidly.

The footage shows strong currents, mud and debris surrounding the building, but its structure did not immediately collapse. After the water receded, the house was again seen standing. The family’s survival has become a widely noted moment of relief during the broader disaster.

Recent flash flooding in areas bordering Nepal and Tibet has caused extensive destruction, washing away houses, roads and bridges. Rescue operations are continuing for missing people, but damaged communications in remote mountain areas have made the effort difficult. Preliminary accounts point to glacier or ice-rock collapses and a sudden surge of river water as possible factors behind the flooding.
