Following meetings with various political parties, Press Secretary Shafiqur Alam quoted Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus as saying, “We are in the midst of a major crisis. Since the ban on the Awami League, there have been relentless efforts to destabilize the country — aiming to trigger a collapse and push us back into submission. We must prevent this from happening.”

He added that the Chief Adviser emphasized the need to overcome division and build national consensus. “If we fail to hold a fair election, I will consider it a personal failure,” Yunus reportedly said. “The uprising has given us a historic opportunity to rescue a broken nation. As long as I’m in office, rest assured, no harm will come to this country.”

Yunus also confirmed he will step down after June 30. “When the time is right, the roadmap will be revealed,” he stated.
