Legal adviser Asif Nazrul has said that the date for Bangladesh’s 13th parliamentary elections will be announced shortly. Speaking at a recent event, he stressed that efforts are being made to ensure the best election in the country’s history. “There was a time when my students used to laugh when asked if they voted—some said they voted 10-12 times; most said never. But that era is ending.” Nazrul questioned the integrity of the 2008 election and affirmed, “Our intention is to deliver the fairest election in Bangladesh’s history—something the Chief Advisor reminds us of constantly.”
