More than one hundred people were injured in a violent clash between two groups during a village arbitration in Kharki, Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj on Tuesday evening. The conflict erupted when one side began recording the arbitration on video and the other objected. The meeting had been called to resolve a dispute over money taken from a furniture shop before Eid. The argument quickly escalated into a physical confrontation, injuring dozens of men, women, and children.

Police arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control around 10 p.m. However, clashes resumed the following morning, prompting police to fire 11 rounds of tear gas to disperse the crowd. By 3 p.m., order was restored, and four individuals were detained. According to Madhabpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sohel Rana, the violence stemmed from a previous financial dispute between the two sides. He stated that the situation is now under control and legal action is being processed.

Authorities reported that around 60 people were injured in the second round of clashes, and investigations are ongoing to identify those responsible.
