The United Nations has appealed to the international community for nearly $1 billion in aid for Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh for the 2025-26 period. The appeal was made during the Joint Response Plan (JRP) launch event in Geneva. Dr. Khalilur Rahman, High Representative of Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, led the country’s delegation, alongside UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi and IOM Director General Amy Pope. The UN reported that one-third of the Rohingya refugees are between 10-24 years old. Without access to formal education, skills training, and self-reliance opportunities, their future remains uncertain.
