Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Dr Abdul Moin Khan visited his parliamentary constituency in Palash, Narsingdi, on Wednesday. He began the visit by paying respects at the graves of his late father, BNP founding member and former minister Abdul Momen Khan, and his mother, Khorsheda Begum, and offered prayers for their forgiveness.

Later, the minister attended a prayer and discussion meeting at the Palash Upazila Parishad auditorium marking Eid-e-Miladunnabi. He said the life and ideals of Prophet Muhammad are worthy of following for all humanity, describing the Prophet’s teachings as centred on peace, justice, humanity and harmony.

Dr Khan urged people to reject division and hatred and to build a humane and peaceful society by following those ideals. Local elected representatives, political leaders and activists, religious scholars, and people from different professions attended the programme. A special prayer was later held for the peace, prosperity and welfare of the country and its people.
