Bangladesh’s interim government has officially merged the Ministry of Home Affairs’ Public Security Division and Security Services Division through a new gazette notification.

The order, issued under the authority of Article 55(6) of the Constitution, amends the Rules of Business, 1996, replacing the two separate divisions with a unified Home Ministry structure.

The move consolidates administrative responsibilities under a single streamlined framework.
