A man named Rupan Mia, aged 45, died after being electrocuted while using an electric fan to dry rice at his home in Surjonagar Purbo Para village under Bakshiganj Sadar Union of Jamalpur district. The incident occurred on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, around noon. Rupan Mia was the son of Hazarat Ali from the same village.

According to local sources, Rupan Mia was preparing to use an electric fan to remove husks from rice when he accidentally touched a faulty wire and was severely injured by electric shock. He was taken to the Upazila Health Complex, where the attending doctor declared him dead.

Bakshiganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mokbul Hossain confirmed the death and stated that legal procedures related to the incident are ongoing.
