At an event marking the anniversary of a mass uprising, AB Party Chairman Majibur Rahman Manju said the movement's success prevented widespread persecution. “Had the uprising failed, thousands of families of the martyred and injured would have been labeled as extremists and brutally oppressed,” he said. He lamented that the stories of 98% of participants remain unheard and criticized the government for rejecting calls for public hearings. Manju warned that those who abused power must be held accountable and also checked in on the health of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.
