Pro-Awami League lawyers faced strong opposition at the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court after chanting the 'Joy Bangla' slogan on Tuesday, July 14. The incident occurred following a sedition case hearing against Sheikh Hasina and 286 others. Witnesses said that after the hearing, lawyers from both political camps clashed in the court premises, leading to the Awami League-aligned lawyers being taken to the Dhaka Lawyers Association office, questioned, and later released with a warning.

The hearing was held in the court of the Third Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Moin Uddin Chowdhury regarding allegations of participating in anti-state activities through a virtual meeting of the 'Joy Bangla Brigade'. Defense lawyers Golam Rabbani and Kamrul Islam argued that the case was politically motivated and that the accused were innocent. However, members of the Nationalist Lawyers Forum, led by Nihar Hossain Faruk, confronted them, claiming the dispute was over personal financial matters, not politics.

Golam Rabbani maintained that the dispute arose over the 'Joy Bangla' slogan, asserting that BNP-backed lawyers pressured them not to use such slogans or create disorder in court.
