Fugitive former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina faces approximately 576 cases in Dhaka, including charges of genocide and crimes against humanity. Several hundred more cases have been filed outside the capital. More than 300 cases have been formally submitted to the International Crimes Tribunal, with four nearing the final investigation stage. Three of these cases name Hasina as the mastermind behind orders to fire on and kill unarmed student protesters. Additional complaints accuse her of orchestrating mass killings and disappearances during the Shapla Chattar protests.
