The White House has welcomed a nomination of former U.S. President Donald Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize for his mediation in de-escalating the recent military conflict between India and Pakistan.

According to Islamabad, Trump’s intervention led to a ceasefire in a conflict that began on May 6. Norway's Nobel Committee has reportedly received the nomination. A Republican congressman had earlier also nominated Trump for his role in the Israel-Iran conflict.
