A protest meeting demanding swift trials and exemplary punishment for those involved in killings during July and August was held at Mazar Mor in Bagerhat Sadar upazila. The event was organized by Ranbijoypur Young Sporting Club on Tuesday afternoon. Leaders of political, social and professional organizations attended, alongside local BNP leaders and activists from affiliated bodies and a large number of residents.

Bagerhat district Jubo Dal president and former chairman Fakir Tarikul Islam spoke as chief guest. The meeting was chaired by Md. Bulbul Kabir, father of July fighter martyr Alim Ahmed. Speakers also included leaders from Sadar upazila BNP, Jubo Dal, Krishak Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal and union BNP. Club president Md. Hafizur Rahman oversaw the event, while Masum Fakir and Fakir Ferdous Rahman jointly moderated it.

Speakers called for impartial and fair investigations to bring the actual perpetrators under the law. They urged action against offenders regardless of political identity, an end to the culture of impunity and an effective role for law enforcement to prevent renewed political violence. Participants pledged to continue seeking justice through peaceful and democratic programmes.
