A pickup driver named Sohel, aged 39, was stabbed in Dhaka’s Gulshan-1 area on Tuesday afternoon due to a previous enmity. The incident occurred behind the Paka Market, where Sohel was attacked with a sharp weapon. Locals rescued him in a critically injured state and took him to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he is currently under treatment. Police detained the suspected attacker from the scene as he attempted to flee.

According to Sohel’s uncle, the attack was carried out by a youth named Masud (also known as Masum) following a long-standing dispute. Witnesses said the assault caused immediate tension in the area, prompting locals to assist in both sending the victim to the hospital and helping police capture the assailant. Police sources confirmed that the suspect is being interrogated in custody, and the motive appears linked to personal conflict.

Authorities stated that a legal process is underway and that the investigation aims to uncover the exact cause and ensure proper legal action against those involved.
