A couple was arrested with a large quantity of drugs from their home in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila. The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) conducted the operation in the early hours of Monday night in the Purparpugi area of Jamalpur Union. The arrested individuals were identified as Korban Ali, 41, and his wife Jesmin Khatun, 27. During the raid, RAB seized 183 bottles of Phensedyl, 157 bottles of Eskaf, and 13 bottles of MKDyl, totaling 353 bottles of narcotics, along with 23,700 taka in cash. The couple was later sent to jail through the Thakurgaon Judicial Court on Tuesday.

According to RAB-13’s Dinajpur camp, the operation was based on secret intelligence. Preliminary interrogation revealed that the couple had been storing and distributing drugs from their home to various districts in the Rangpur division for a long time. RAB-13’s media wing senior assistant director and additional superintendent of police Biplob Kumar Goswami stated that the two are professional drug dealers. A case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act, and the seized items and detainees have been handed over to Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station.
