The National Moon Sighting Committee has announced that the holy Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (peace be upon him) will be observed across Bangladesh on September 6, as the crescent for the Islamic month of Rabiul Awwal (1447 Hijri) was not sighted on Sunday. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Religious Affairs Secretary AKM Aftab Hossain Pramanik at Baitul Mukarram. As a result, the current month of Safar will complete 30 days, with Rabiul Awwal beginning on August 26.
