Home Affairs Adviser Jahangir Alam has announced the establishment of a robust legal framework to ensure accountability for human trafficking crimes. Enhanced border security and awareness initiatives have been implemented as part of the government’s broader national action plan. The plan includes systematic victim identification, needs assessment, and integration with appropriate service providers. A dedicated special tribunal has also been set up to expedite human trafficking cases. “We are expanding mutual legal assistance mechanisms to strengthen cooperation with BIMSTEC member states and other countries in combating human trafficking,” the adviser stated.
