Police in Mymensingh recovered the beheaded body of a man named Rajib Ahmed, also known as Rubel, from a rented house in the city on Sunday afternoon. Two individuals, identified as Md. Roni Mia and Sajal, were detained in connection with the incident. According to police and family sources, Rubel, aged 40, was the son of the late Abdul Hamid and had been living as a tenant in the house of Parul Akter for about a month. Unknown assailants reportedly entered his room, beat him with bamboo sticks, and then slit his throat before fleeing.

Neighbors rushed to the scene after hearing screams and took Rubel to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Police recovered the body and found a liquor bottle near his head. Authorities said Rubel had several drug-related cases against him. Locals described him as a known drug user, though the motive behind the killing—whether drug-related or personal—remains unclear.

Police collected evidence from the scene and stated that an investigation is underway to uncover the cause of the murder.
