England ended the second day of the second Test against Pakistan at Lord’s in a commanding position, reaching 81 for 3 in their second innings and extending their overall lead to 261 runs. Pakistan were dismissed for 110 in their first innings after England had made 290. Emilio was unbeaten on 39 and Joe Root had 24 at stumps, with England holding seven wickets in hand.

Pakistan had opted to field after winning the toss and initially restricted England through Mohammad Abbas, who took 4 for 73, and Mohammad Ali, who claimed 3 for 86. Jamie Smith top-scored with 61, while Jordan Cox made 55 and Gus Atkinson added a brisk 45 to lift England to 290.

Pakistan’s top order struggled against England’s swing and bounce. Captain Shan Masood made 1, Abdullah Shafique 5 and Babar Azam 8. Aazan Wais resisted with 46 from 102 balls, while Saud Shakeel scored 16. Ollie Robinson took 4 for 11, Jofra claimed 3 for 26 and Josh Tongue took 2 for 27. Khurram took 2 for 26 in England’s second innings.
