A violent clash broke out between two groups during an arbitration meeting in Kharki village of Madhabpur upazila, Habiganj, on Tuesday evening. The dispute began when one side started recording the meeting on a mobile phone, prompting objections from the other side. The argument quickly escalated into a physical confrontation, leaving at least 50 people, including men and women, injured. Several of the injured were taken to Madhabpur Upazila Health Complex and other hospitals for treatment.

According to local sources, the meeting had been convened to resolve a financial dispute between the two sides. Police from Madhabpur Police Station arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control. The officer-in-charge, Sohel Rana, stated that the clash stemmed from a previous monetary disagreement and that law and order had since been restored.

Authorities are in the process of taking legal action against those involved in the incident, as confirmed by the police.
