A college student was found with severe throat injuries inside the bathroom of an Ena Paribahan counter in Khulna’s Daulatpur area on Sunday evening, July 5, 2026. The injured, identified as Imon, 20, from Senhati in Dighalia upazila and a first-year honors student at BL College, was taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital in critical condition. The incident occurred after other staff members left for evening prayers, leaving him alone at the counter.

Family members said Imon had joined the job at the counter on the same day. When coworkers returned, they could not find him and later discovered him injured inside the bathroom. Ena Paribahan officials alleged that money was stolen from the counter’s cashbox during the incident. Police said they are investigating whether it was a robbery, planned attack, or suicide attempt.

Hospital sources confirmed that Imon received emergency treatment and was admitted to the surgery ward, where doctors are closely monitoring his condition. Police investigations are ongoing to determine the motive and circumstances behind the attack.
