At the opening of the 2025 Army Promotion Board, Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus emphasized that promotion should be based on merit, highlighting the importance of honesty, professionalism, and political neutrality.

He instructed board members to prioritize leadership, integrity, and competence when selecting officers for promotion. Dr. Yunus also praised the military’s contributions to national security, peacekeeping, and disaster response, expressing gratitude to the Army Chief and other officials. Promotions for Colonel and Lieutenant Colonel ranks are currently under consideration.
