BNP leader Goyeshwar Chandra Roy has stated that while freedom fighters like Fazlur Rahman hold special honor, their actions should still be subject to accountability.
Speaking on a talk show, Roy said: “Fazlur Rahman is a valiant freedom fighter and deserves respect. But that does not mean wrongdoing should go unpunished.”
He also criticized Fazlur’s recent use of aggressive language, saying political discourse would be better without such remarks.
On broader political issues, Goyeshwar dismissed banning parties as a solution and commented that Tarique Rahman has legitimate business interests in Bangladesh. “He will be the future Prime Minister,” Roy said.
