A cocktail attack was alleged at the Bharashimla Union BNP office in Kaliganj, Satkhira, with one person reported injured, BNP leaders said. The incident occurred at about 12:30am on Saturday night. BNP leaders said two bombs exploded and that two unexploded cocktails were recovered from the site. The blasts spread panic in surrounding areas.

Bharashimla Union BNP general secretary Sohel Rana, organising secretary Jahangir Alam Dhali, joint organising secretary Mahbubur Rahman Hasu and union Krishak Dal convenor Ramzan Ali confirmed the incident. They said the BNP office was targeted in a bombing at some point during the night, creating fear and concern among party activists. Former Kaliganj upazila BNP joint convener Aktaruzzaman Bappi visited the site after receiving the news.

A police team led by Kaliganj police station Officer-in-Charge Md Shahidul Islam Howlader and Sub-Inspector Matin went to the scene. Fire Service personnel also inspected the area, secured the site, brought the situation under control and examined the blasts. Local BNP leaders and activists demanded a prompt, fair and impartial investigation and punishment for those involved. The officer-in-charge said the matter remains under investigation and legal action will follow its conclusion.
