State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Boby Hajjaj said the government has no plan to close primary schools or shift to online classes despite the ongoing measles outbreak and energy crisis. He stated that the ministry prefers continuing in-person education and is not considering online learning at this stage. Hajjaj made the remarks on April 6 after inspecting infrastructure and educational activities at several primary schools in Dhaka.

He explained that no final decision has been made regarding school closures, and the ministry is working to maintain normal academic activities. The government is also preparing to introduce several new initiatives in the education sector by June or July, with field-level preparations already underway. The minister emphasized that the government is prioritizing physical infrastructure improvements in schools and has instructed heightened health precautions for students.

Hajjaj added that online classes are not very effective for young children, so the ministry will continue face-to-face teaching. He assured that the government will take further measures based on expert advice if the health situation worsens.
