Three people described as an Islami Chhatra Shibir worker and two supporters were shot by masked attackers in Baraital village of Jirtali ইউনিয়ন, Begumganj upazila, Noakhali, at about 9:30pm on Saturday. The injured were identified as Sakibul Hasan, 17, Md Nadim, 17, and Md Saher. They were admitted to Noakhali 250-bed General Hospital after local residents rescued them.

Local sources said the three were returning home from Bangla Bazar on a motorcycle when several masked people travelling in a CNG-run autorickshaw tried to stop them. After failing to block the motorcycle, the attackers allegedly fired indiscriminately, leaving all three injured. Residents approached the scene, after which the attackers fled. A shooting at a wedding in Alaiarpur union of Begumganj had injured at least five people the previous Monday.

Begumganj Jamaat emir Md Abu Zayed alleged that a Jubo Dal leader named Harun led the attack, an allegation rejected by Jubo Dal member secretary Mohi Uddin Raju. Police said two injured people had shrapnel wounds, while their political identities remained unconfirmed. No written complaint had been filed, and police said legal action would follow if one is submitted.
