The pass rate in this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations was 62.25 percent, nearly two percentage points higher than last year. Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon formally inaugurated the release of results at the Education Ministry’s conference room at 10am on Monday, August 10.

The Technical Education Board recorded an average pass rate of 58.20 percent, with 3,951 candidates earning GPA-5. The Madrasa Education Board recorded a 55.49 percent pass rate, and 6,716 candidates achieved GPA-5.

A total of 1,857,344 candidates took the examinations under 11 education boards, including 930,305 boys and 927,039 girls. Students from 30,666 institutions sat at 3,885 centres. General boards had 1,418,318 candidates, while the madrasa board had 303,286 and the technical board had 134,660. Results will be available by SMS and on education board websites.
