Sumita Sajneen Marufa, a chemistry student from Jagannath University, has received offers for higher studies from five universities in the United States. Among them, she secured full funding for doctoral studies at the University of Houston, the University of Tennessee, and Colorado State University. She also received admission offers for postgraduate programs at the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Virginia.

Under the supervision of Professors Md. Aminul Haque and Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Sumita began her research focusing on the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds and evaluating their biological activities through laboratory and computational methods. She has published 12 research papers in internationally recognized journals in chemistry and molecular sciences.

Currently affiliated with the Glass and Ceramic Research and Testing Institute under the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, she is working on Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs) for carbon dioxide capture, gas separation, and eco-friendly technology development, which could contribute to sustainable technological advancement.
