Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar has alleged that despite relatively peaceful voting, the counting and result declaration stages of the recent national election were manipulated to defeat Jamaat candidates. Speaking on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the party’s Mymensingh City Rukon Conference, he claimed that Jamaat was narrowly defeated in more than 50 parliamentary constituencies across the country.

Parwar stated that in many constituencies, Jamaat candidates were shown to have lost by margins of one to five thousand votes. He said the party has already lodged complaints with the Election Commission and will seek vote recounts and impartial investigations through the election tribunal. According to him, if voters had been able to cast their ballots freely, the results might have been different.

He reiterated that Jamaat-e-Islami remains committed to democratic and non-violent politics, rejecting extremism. Parwar also claimed that the party’s symbol, the balance scale, received widespread public support nationwide and that Jamaat will continue constructive political engagement for the welfare of the people.
