BNP leader Ishraq Hossain stated, “Taking oath is just a formality. As the people’s mayor, it’s my responsibility to ensure proper waste management preparations before the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha.” He added, “Until a mayor is appointed in Dhaka North, I will assist the local administration and sanitation workers in fulfilling their duties.” Ishraq also announced plans to form zonal monitoring teams in coordination with former councillors and candidates from Dhaka South, aiming to restore order within 16 hours. “I will personally join the sanitation workers in the South,” he said.
