Voting in all four parliamentary constituencies of Patuakhali district concluded peacefully and festively on Thursday, February 12, 2026. Polling took place continuously from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with voters present at the centers after the official closing time also allowed to cast their ballots. Counting began after a short break. Although voter turnout was initially low in the morning, participation increased steadily throughout the day, with men, women, and youth taking part enthusiastically.

According to results released by the BNP media cell by midnight, the BNP secured victories in three constituencies, while Jamaat-e-Islami won one. In Patuakhali-01, BNP’s Air Vice Marshal (Retd.) Altaf Hossain Chowdhury received 150,915 votes, defeating Islami Andolan Bangladesh’s Firoz Alam, who got 57,690. In Patuakhali-02, Jamaat’s Dr. Muhammad Shafiqul Islam Masud won with 99,738 votes, ahead of BNP’s Shahidul Islam Talukder with 72,195. In Patuakhali-03, BNP’s Nurul Haque Nur won with 96,666 votes, and in Patuakhali-04, BNP’s ABM Mosharraf Hossain secured 123,334 votes.

The overall election atmosphere in Patuakhali was described as festive and peaceful, with spontaneous participation from voters of all ages.
