A Dhaka court has postponed the submission date for the further investigation report in the Hadi murder case for the 18th time, now setting it for August 20. The decision was made on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Sefatullah after the investigating officer, CID Assistant Superintendent of Police Abdul Kadir Bhuiyan, failed to submit the report. The prosecution’s Sub-Inspector Ruknuzzaman confirmed the development.

Earlier, on January 15, 2026, the complainant Abdullah Al Jaber, member secretary of Inqilab Moncho, expressed dissatisfaction with the charge sheet submitted by the Detective Branch and filed a petition for further investigation, which the court granted. The DB had previously filed a charge sheet on January 6, accusing 17 individuals, including former ward councillor Taizul Islam Chowdhury Bappi and Faisal Karim Masud, the prime accused.

According to the case details, Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Moncho, was shot on December 13 in Motijheel while traveling after Friday prayers. He later died in Singapore on December 18 after being transferred there for advanced treatment.
