Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, has sharply criticized a draft resolution presented by the United States to the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) Governing Board. He described the proposal as a dangerous effort to grant impunity to aggressors and conceal their crimes. The US draft reportedly calls on Iran to inform the IAEA about the fate of its bombed nuclear facilities and the enriched uranium stored there.

Responding to the US move, Gharibabadi said that after attacks by Israel and the United States on Iran’s nuclear sites, IAEA inspectors had left the country. He warned that the Governing Board must not become a platform to whitewash military aggression or shift its consequences onto the victimized nation. He accused the US and its allies of first targeting monitored facilities, disrupting nuclear safety, and then using the Board to pressure Iran.

Gharibabadi emphasized that those responsible for attacks on IAEA-supervised facilities should be held internationally accountable, arguing that such actions cannot justify resolutions against the country that suffered the assaults.
