The Dhaka University unit of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal has condemned and protested remarks made by AB Party General Secretary Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad about Dhaka University. In a statement released to the media on Sunday, the organization said Fuad’s comments, delivered during a University Day event, were insulting and hateful toward the university, its history, and its students. The group demanded legal action against the event organizers.

According to the statement, Fuad made the remarks on July 1 at a discussion organized by the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) to mark the university’s founding anniversary. Chhatra Dal said the comments sparked widespread criticism across the country and on social media. The group also alleged that DUCSU had remained silent for five days and had instead spread misinformation about Chhatra Dal to divert attention.

The statement further claimed that inviting Fuad to the event reflected an agenda against the university’s traditions of independence, democracy, and the spirit of the Liberation War. Chhatra Dal urged the university administration to take lawful measures against Fuad and the event organizers.
