BNP candidate Abul Monsur Sakhawat Hasan, known as Dr. Jibon, has been unofficially declared the winner in the Habiganj-2 (Baniachong-Ajmiriganj) constituency. He secured 126,200 votes, defeating his nearest rival, Abdul Basit Azad of Khelafat Majlish, who received 63,311 votes. The results were announced on Thursday evening, February 12, 2026.
Voting for Bangladesh’s 13th National Parliamentary Election began at 7:30 a.m. and continued until 4:30 p.m. across 42,779 polling centers nationwide. Alongside the parliamentary election, a national referendum was also held on the same day.
Dr. Jibon serves as an adviser to the BNP chairperson and is a former organizing secretary of the party. His victory adds to a series of wins for BNP candidates reported from other constituencies across the country.
