Authorities have confirmed that the footage actually originates from a June 4, 2024, incident in Brahmanbaria, where a mob handed over a mugger to the police after a public beating. The video has no connection to the recent events in Gopalganj. It was traced back to the Facebook page “Praner Brahmanbaria” and a user profile named “Mohammad Sajon,” both of which posted identical, false captions.
