A passenger was killed and at least ten others were injured when two buses collided on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Cumilla’s Sadar Dakshin upazila on Tuesday morning. The accident occurred around 8:30 a.m. in the Suagazi area, in front of Rahat Filling Station, on the Chattogram-bound lane.

Police said a Madina Paribahan bus traveling from Feni to Cumilla hit a CDM Paribahan bus from Chattogram to Dhaka from behind, causing severe damage to both vehicles. The deceased was identified as Imran Gazi, 28, a passenger of the CDM Paribahan bus and a resident of Chandpur Sadar upazila. The injured passengers were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

According to Moinamoti Highway Police Station officer-in-charge Abdul Momin, both damaged buses have been seized, and the victim’s body was taken to the police station. Legal procedures related to the incident are underway.
