Akhtar Hossain, Member Secretary of the NCP and Member of Parliament for Rangpur-4 (Kaunia-Pirgacha), has stated that the government’s special allocation of 1 million taka for the poor and helpless people during Eid-ul-Fitr was distributed transparently and properly. On Tuesday afternoon, he presented a detailed account of the spending before the public at the Tapar Bridge area in Kaunia.

Hossain explained that although 1 million taka may seem like a large sum, it is limited compared to the large population of his constituency. He noted that if each beneficiary received 1,000 taka, only about 1,000 people could be helped, while the constituency has 140 wards. As a result, only five to six people per ward could receive assistance. He assured that those left out this time would be prioritized in the next allocation.

He added that as a representative elected for five years, he aims to stand by all constituents gradually and that public disclosure of spending ensures transparency and accountability in government aid distribution.
