Syed Hossain, an accused in a case involving violence and explosives during a public uprising in Charramba Union of Lohagara, Chattogram, has been appointed as the Panel Chairman. Allegations suggest that he concealed vital information and paid a hefty sum to secure the post. In the controversial 2022 Union Parishad election, Helal Uddin, the local Weavers' League president, allegedly seized polling centers through violence to become chairman. After Helal fled post-August 5, Panel Chairman Mohammad Mia served in his place. Unexpectedly, he was removed, and the district administration declared Syed Hossain the new chairman.
