Golam Mohammad Siraj, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) candidate, has been elected as the Member of Parliament for the Bogura-5 (Sherpur-Dhunat) constituency. According to unofficial results from all 188 polling centers across the two police stations in the constituency, he secured 247,816 votes under the 'paddy sheaf' symbol. His closest rival, Dabibur Rahman of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, received 142,470 votes under the 'scales' symbol, giving Siraj a winning margin of 105,000 votes.

The election in Bogura-5 featured a total of six candidates, including Siraj and Rahman. The results were based on unofficial counts reported from all polling centers. The victory adds to a series of wins for BNP candidates in other constituencies, as noted in the same report, including Khagrachhari-298 and Gazipur-3.

The outcome reinforces BNP’s electoral presence in northern Bangladesh, particularly in Bogura district, where the party has historically maintained strong support.
