State Minister for Public Administration Md. Abdul Bari told parliament that officials who played roles in prolonging a former fascist government are being identified for action. He said various investigative agencies are working to pinpoint those who openly supported that regime, and necessary measures will be taken after investigations conclude. He made the remarks on Tuesday during the question-and-answer session chaired by Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed.

In response to other parliamentary questions, the minister reported that as of June 30, 2025, there were 1,464,350 government employees, with 521,922 positions vacant. He detailed the number of officials at different ranks and said the government aims to publish the 50th BCS results within one year. He also noted that women make up 29 percent of the civil service workforce.

The minister added that recruitment, transfer, and posting decisions are being made based on merit, honesty, and competence, free from political influence. Training programs on ethics and discipline are ongoing, with 180 officials trained in the 2025–26 fiscal year and more sessions planned.
