Motijheel Ideal School and College has transferred 46 teachers among its Motijheel, Banasree and Mugda branches to curb alleged coaching, admission and private-tuition syndicates, address long-standing irregularities and balance staffing. The transfers were approved with the consent of members of the institution’s governing board last Sunday.

Teachers and guardians said the decision considered the risk of teachers becoming involved in unethical activities after remaining at one branch for a long time. Teachers who had served at the same branch for five to seven years were moved to expand their work scope and mobility. The main Motijheel branch had comparatively more teachers, while Banasree and Mugda faced staff shortages.

Some transferred teachers had voluntarily sought placement at other branches, according to unnamed teachers. Principal Professor Lal Mohammad described the move as part of administrative reform and coordination, saying it aimed to prevent syndicates from forming. The institution has about 28,000 students across three branches, nearly 700 teachers and more than 200 employees.
